Swing

Swing is a form of jazz music that developed initially in the 1930s in the US with musicians such as Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Ella Fitzgerald and Glenn Miller.  The genre is associated very strongly with the ‘Big Band’ sound.

Swing then developed through the 50s and 60s with artists such as Frank Sinatra, Paul Anka and Nat ‘King’ Cole.  Other artists such as Elvis Presley, Chuck Berry and Jerry Lee Lewis also brought swing elements into the Rock ‘N’ Roll sounds of the late 50s.

A modern revival of Swing has been led by artists such as Robbie Wiliams, Christina Aguilera and Michael Buble.  Here is the list of Swing and general jazz type songs in my repertoire:
